New Jersey Regulators Reverse Denial of Curaleaf’s Adult-Use Cannabis License

The New Jersey Hashish Regulatory Fee (CRC) on Tuesday reversed its resolution to disclaim the renewal of Curaleaf’s adult-use hashish license, New Jersey Business Magazine studies. As a part of the approval, Curaleaf will present the fee with extra data concerning its labor practices and ensure its ongoing compliance with state legislation.   

When the CRC voted to disclaim Curaleaf’s adult-use license final week, members cited the corporate’s conflict with unionization and lack of transparency and stated the choice was due, partially, to its closing of certainly one of its cultivation amenities and shedding of 40 workers. 

Following the reversal, Curaleaf CEO Matt Darin stated the CRC resolution “is an unbelievable victory” for the corporate’s 500 workers in New Jersey. Darin stated the renewal is “vindication” for what the corporate “knew all alongside: Curaleaf is in good standing with the CRC and has fulfilled each requirement crucial for the renewal” of its adult-use licenses. 

Following the denial, Curaleaf Chairman Boris Jordan pledged to make use of “any authorized means crucial” to “guarantee renewal” of the license. Jordan stated after the CRC resolution to resume the license that it represents a “victory” for the agency, noting it generates “tens of hundreds of thousands” of {dollars} in state tax revenues and has invested “upwards of $75 million” to assist the New Jersey hashish business.

“Curaleaf stays open for enterprise,” Jordan stated in a press release, “and can proceed working collaboratively with the CRC Board and its employees to make sure our good standing within the State of New Jersey.”
